Surface Reinforcement Technology For Stainless Steel Forgings

1. Stainless steel forging brush coating surface reinforcement technology

Brush plating, like electroplating, is also a metal deposition process. When brushing, the pen is connected to the DC power positive, the forging is negative, the anode with electrolyte is wrapped in the forging surface for relative motion, at this time the anode and cathode are in the plating fluid, the receiving disk recovery brush plating liquid, and constantly supply the anode electrolyte, the metal ions in the plating liquid are reduced to a metal coating on the forging surface.

Brush plating has the following characteristics:

1) Simple equipment (including power supply, pen plating, plating and pumps, swing table, etc.), flexible process, easy to operate.

2) Large forgings can be partially plated.

3) Safe operation, small environmental pollution, high productivity.

4) The coating binding strength is high. It also has good binding strength on Chin, aluminum, chromium, copper, high alloy steel and graphite.

Brush plating process: surface pre-processing, cleaning degreasing and removal of pounds, electro-purification treatment, active treatment, plating bottom, plating size coating and working plating, post-plating cleaning and coating anti-rust liquid. Experiments show that brush plating is used for hot mold, which will make the surface of the mold have good red hardness, wear resistance and antioxidant ability, and improve the life of the mold by 50% to 200%. Brush plating is used for cold mold, which will make the surface of the mold have high hardness and good anti-adhesion performance, which can greatly improve the life of cold mold.

The general brush coating is crystalline, if the use of special plating liquid to obtain amorphoous coating, the coating can have excellent physical, chemical and electrical properties, can greatly improve the service life of forgings.

2. Stainless steel forging chemical plating surface reinforcement technology

The forging is put in a chemical plating fluid, and the metal ions are reduced to form a coating on the surface by obtaining electrons produced by the chemical reaction in the plating fluid. A single metal coating, alloy coating, composite coating and amorphoous coating can be obtained by chemical plating.

Chemical plating is an electrochemical process without an added electric field. Its advantages are: simple equipment, easy to operate, both plating capacity and deep plating capacity, with good imitation (i.e., in the shape of complex mold surface to obtain uniform thickness coating), coating dense, good combination with the substitut, forging no deformation. Chemical plating has been applied in a variety of forgings, improve the service life of forgings, and scrap forgings when the thermal wear difference is not too large, thermal cracks are not too deep, play a repair role, so as to obtain good economic benefits.
